“Yesterday(sic) about 2 1/2 o’clock PM Mr Patrick O’Keaf (sic) a workman employed in Mr Morey’s tannery in Adams Ville, aged about 47 years, feel dead of disease of the heart while at work.  Mr. K. (sic) was an industrious man, and respected citizen, he recently came from Batesville.  His son was to work at the same bench with him when he fell and on taking him up he was dead.  He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his sudden death.”

(Batesville was small collection of houses in present St Patrick’s Parish.)  (Adamsville-see St John’s Inscriptions vol. 2 p. 14)
