The Tithe Applotment Lists, Ireland

The Tithe Applotment lists contain names of landholders who were to pay tithes to the Church of Ireland, the established church of Ireland at the time. A valuation was made of the entire country, civil parish by civil parish. This was a result of the Composition Act of 1823 and was carried out every year until the act was abolished in 1838.
