Research Notes:  The Tithe Applotments were transcribed for this parish by Pat Connors from the Family History Film #0256591.  The film was in fairly good condition but the handwriting was very old, plus the recorder couldn't spell some of the surnames. All recorded names are as spelled in the record. All together it was, at times, extremely hard to read correctly, therefore, all entries should be checked if you are trying to find connections to your family. This resource is an index, since there is more information for each entry in the source document. The Townlands and/or areas were also hard to read, and used old times spellings, so may not look familiar.
TRANSCRIPTION NOTES:
1.  This is a huge civil parish with 169 pages and over 2,000 entries.  First of all, the filming of the parish was not very good.  One page would be crystal clear and the next blurred.  I double checked my work but that doesn't mean I didn't make mistakes.  I also used the tithe pages on the County Leitrim section of the Ireland GenWeb website:  http://www.irelandgenweb.com/irllet/records.htm
The above images of the parish tithes were taken with a camera and somewhat dark but the pages are very clear compared to the film I used.  Using both sources, I feel my transcription is fairly accurate.  But one needs to check the source themselves before using the work as source data.

2.  Each entry took two pages in the tithes book and were filmed separately.  On the right hand side page at the very end of the entry were notes by the enumerator.  Many times he added more names, so those are also added to this index.  What I found most interesting is for some men listed, in the notes there is a woman's name with 'widow'.  I interpreted it as the first entry, the man, was the husband to the widow.  Great data, if so.  But, at least it is a lead to follow.  Both names are in the index.
